Mixing Albums and Making Videos.
26th Apr, 2012

I have just come back from the studio where I have mastered my record! It all feels rather surreal and bittersweet, as although I am incredibly proud of it, and people are going to hear 'Devotion' soon - which is so exciting - it means that the first album is well and truly finished and I will be spending less time with Dave.
Mixing has been interesting and I have learnt the art of concentration and patience! I am amazed at how calm my mixer, Lexxx, is. He mixed and produced the last two Wild Beasts' records which I loved and has done such a brilliant job on this record. So much love has been put into each mix. I am very lucky to have had Dave and Lexxx working on this record.
Festivals start as of next weekend, when I will be playing Live At Leeds and then its load of different festivals all around the UK and a few in Europe. Especially looking forward to Field Day, where I am playing in the Red Bull tent and in Europe, I can't wait to finally make it to Melt Festival.
110% is my most recent single that has come out. It's the first song Julio Bashmore and I had ever written and it's over a year since we wrote it together. I am a sucker for songs about dancing, so I decided to write one about dancing on your own. I am really happy people are enjoying it. The video was shot in Painsall Park in Cobham, which is the most beautiful National Trust park, full of caves, bandstands, daffodils, and swans. It was a boiling hot day the day we shot it, thank god! If it had rained or looked cold in the slightest, I think the video would have been a disaster. I am very glad Bashy decided to make a cameo in it too, he's was an absolute pro every take we did. Me, not so much, I couldn't stop giggling, which you can just about see when Bashy closes the car door for me. Such a great day. Planning the next video now and I cannot contain my excitement, however, nothing shall be given away just yet.
